What is “Concierge Medicine”?
Concierge medicine is an approach to primary health care in which physicians charge their patients for enhanced care and service above and beyond today’s traditional medical experience. Other terms used for this kind of care are boutique medicine, retainer-based medicine, and innovative medical practice design.
In exchange, the physician limits the number of patients he or she accepts and thus offers more personalized services. Concierge physicians care for fewer patients than in a conventional practice. Doctors are accessible via cell phone or email at any time of day or night.
What is the advantage of Concierge Medicine?
Dr. Kruse provides periodic "wellness" examinations, meeting with the patient for unhurried consultations regarding his or her lifestyle and overall health condition. In addition, Dr. Kruse is available to patients during non-business hours and he makes house calls when needed.
The main benefit of concierge medicine is more personalized attention from the physician. Dr. Kruse believes in spending time in conversation with each of his patients in order to build a relationship and understand the whole person.
